01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Behind the red awning, where the words “純喫茶” still appear, 純喫茶ラブ (Jun-kissa Love) welcomes diners with the calm, unhurried feel of Tokyo’s old downtown. The distinctive, retro interior is a comfortable place to take your time; it also suits a quiet meal when dropping in alone.
From yoshoku favourites to neighbourhood Chinese-style dishes
The menu brings together familiar kissaten rice dishes, including omurice, curry rice and hamburger steak with a fried egg. A generous serving of omurice is a popular choice and catches the eye in the display case. There are also ramen with a choice of soy or miso seasoning, chashu ramen, yakisoba, gyoza with rice and fried rice. The broad selection of noodles and stir-fries has the feel of a casual neighbourhood diner, with plenty of filling options.
A relaxed pause, with coffee or a drink
After the meal, there is the familiar option of coffee, along with alcoholic drinks such as beer, shochu mixed drinks and sake. You might linger over a drink with vegetable stir-fry and rice, or finish a mild, simple curry before taking a quiet breather. The pace is your own.
